MHC Men’s Futsal is back!

 

After a spectacular six-year run of top 3 finishes from 2013 to 2018, the Rattlers Men’s Futsal team returned to podium this year by capturing the silver medal at the ACAC Championships in March.

 

On the way to the 2024 ACAC Championship game, the team compiled an 8-0-2 regular season record, and had three more victories at the final tournament. 

 

In the ACAC final game, the Rattlers played the undefeated Keyano College Huskies.  MHC fell behind early but narrowed the score to 3-2. In the end, the Rattlers were unable to overcome the deficit and ended up on the short end of a 5-3 final score.

 

Two individuals, in particular, stood out for the Rattlers this season: Felipe Valladares and João Nascimento. They were both named to the ACAC South All Conference team.  In addition, Nascimento was selected as the ACAC South Rookie of the Year.

 

At the MHC Athletic Awards banquet, the Rattlers Men’s Futsal awards were presented to the following athletes:

Rattler Award – Vinicius Campos

Rookie of the Year – Noah Scholly

Most Valuable Player – Joao Nascimento

 

While returning to the ACAC podium this year was a great achievement, the team still has one more rung to climb to be on top. Expect the 2025 team to give its all and challenge again for the ACAC Championship.
