The past four years have been good ones for the MHC Golf program.  The squad has consistently posted multiple Top Three finishes at ACAC and CCAA championships.  In 2023-24, Rattlers Golf continued its legacy of accomplishment, again winning medals both at the ACAC and CCAA levels.

 

The men's team was led by Micheal Valk.  Undefeated in all three ACAC tournaments, Valk won the ACAC championships with a three-round total of -8, five strokes ahead of the runner-up.  At the CCAA Nationals, Valk led the first two rounds but ultimately ended up with the silver medal.

 

The Rattlers women had a good season qualifying two women for CCAA Nationals.  Libby Bourassa (2nd) and Taryn Sanderson (6th) both posted top-10 finishes at the ACAC Championships.  At the CCAA Nationals, Bourassa had a 13th place finish, while Sanderson ended up 18th.

 

In terms of ACAC team placings, the Rattlers Women and the Rattlers Mixed teams both captured silver medals at the ACAC Championships.  The MHC men placed 4th, missing the final men's team qualifying spot for CCAA Nationals by a single stroke.

 

At the MHC Athletic Awards banquet, the Rattlers Golf awards were presented to the following athletes:

Rattler Award – Rylan Hodgson

Rookie of the Year – Taryn Sanderson

Most Valuable Player – Valk

 

Valk was also named the 2023-24 MHC Male Athlete of the Year, and Bourassa and Sanderson were honoured as a CCAA Academic All-Canadians.

Rattlers Golf is clearly on a roll and is showing no signs of slowing down.  Look for good things from this team in the 2024-25 season.
