"Missed by that much!" summarizes the MHC men's 2023-24 soccer season. A single goal given up in the 82nd minute of a home game turned out to be the turning point of the Rattlers season. That one goal was the difference between the Rattlers staying home or taking a playoff run at an ACAC Championship.
September proved to be challenging for the MHC men who ended the month with no wins and two draws. October was better; the team won three games. In the end, the Rattlers' ACAC season record was three wins, four losses, and two draws, good for fourth place in the ACAC South Division.
Individually, Goalkeeper Maksymilian Slaweta appeared in six Rattlers games and recorded a save percentage of .774, fourth best in the entire ACAC.
At the MHC Athletic Awards banquet, the Rattlers Soccer awards were presented to the following athletes:
Rattler Award – Mamadou Camara
Rookie of the Year – De'Shaut Gelinas-Cato
Most Valuable Player – Tata Mugisha
Joel Lehr, who played both soccer and volleyball in 2023-24, was also recognized as MHC Athletics overall Rookie of the Year.
After coming agonizingly close to making the playoffs in 2023-24 season, the MHC men's soccer team looks to be on the right side of a pivotable goal or two next season in their quest for the ACAC playoffs.
